From the Dudley College of Technology
Our new Dudley College of Technology strategic plan, aptly titled "Forging Ahead A Strategic Plan for Dudley College of Technology 202023," outlines our objectives for the future and outlines how we intend to continue providing every student with an exceptional educational experience that will serve as the cornerstone of their future careers.
In the plan, we set forth our long-term objectives for the institution and each department.
Dudley College of Technology has played a significant role in the delivery of technical and vocational education in Dudley Borough and the greater Black Country for more than 150 years.
Due to the college's deteriorating financial status, inadequate buildings and resources, and unidentified strategic prospects, Ofsted gave it a subpar rating in 2007.
The organisation has a current rating of "excellent provider" and is regarded as one of the best general further education institutions in the country.
None of us could have foreseen that we would be closing the College just a few weeks after unveiling our new Strategic Plan in January 2020, as the country entered its first lockdown and the pandemic's effects spread throughout the globe.
Especially when you take into account the effects of Brexit, the urgent need to address climate change, and the considerable changes planned for further and higher education, the future already seems to be very different from our hopes for 2020.
As a result, we have taken the unusual step of creating a midpoint evaluation of our strategic plan.
