From the Cardinal Allen Catholic High School, Fleetwood
Cardinal Allen is a forward-thinking, engaging, and joyful school where everyone is pushed to reach their full potential.
The school bears the name of Cardinal William Allen, a Lancashire native who was born in 1532 and is believed to have spent his early years at Rossall, not far from the school's location.
Regardless of their background, students and staff are dedicated to the Catholic and Christian mission of the school and recognise its value.
We received around 400 applications for September 2019, and 165 students started the new school year with us in Year 7.
The relationships between Cardinal Allen and our partner primary schools have always been very strong, and we work hard to ensure that all of our new students have a smooth transition from primary school to high school.
The school is kept up nicely, and a planned schedule of renovations makes sure that the staff and students have nice, well-maintained facilities.
The construction of a new music studio complex, an upgrade to the IT infrastructure, and a total renovation of our science department are recent examples of building developments.
We are a Full International School with an annual exchange visit to our partner school in India, one of only twelve Eco Ambassador Schools in the nation, and a Fairtrade Fair Achiever School.
Our school continuously aspires to raise the bar, as evidenced not only by the great GCSE results but also by the reports from our most recent Ofsted (2015) and Section 48 Denominational (2017) inspections.
The results of this year's examinations have us ecstatic.
More Grade 8s and 9s in more subjects were earned by our outstanding students than ever before.
In terms of academic achievement, 84% of students attained at least a grade 4 in English, which is equivalent to the "old" grade C, 78% in Math, 72% in both English and Math, and 79% in Science.
We hope that you will find the information you need on our website and in our prospectus, as well as get a sense of who we are.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any inquiries about the school or would want to stop by during a working day.
