Everyone in our Burntstump community—adults and children alike—is aware of their value as God's children. Their talents are identified, appreciated, and developed so that everyone can prosper and experience life to the fullest. We are assured and pleased to attend a Christian institution. Our desire to establish the best educational standards in order to help all of our children reach their full potential is supported by our distinctively Christian perspective. The mission statement of the school and the challenges we believe some of our students experience are the foundation for the school's distinct Christian vision. After extensive collaboration amongst the students, teachers, parents, Diocese, and governors, our principles and mission statement were chosen not long after we became an academy. Strong ties exist between St. Paul's Church and Vicar Sally School and St. Paul's Church, Daybrook. Reverend Sally Baylis leads whole school worship fortnightly whilst she also plays an active role in the daily life of the school as a member of the Governing Body, attending school events, trips and residential visits etc. Families and kids are urged to participate in church activities. Even though the church is a bus ride away, the school frequently promotes family services or special church events in the school newsletter and hosts services there for the entire student body. Carol Kay, a Foundation Governor who is also the Chair of the Governing Body, and Sue Ellis, the Vice Chair, are actively involved in school life and can attest to the excellence of Worship times and RE courses.
