We are dedicated to encouraging students and employees to be resilient, independent, and to have great well-being and mental health.
We are aiming to earn the Well-Being Award, and in December 2019 we will be evaluated.
On our website, under the heading "Policies," you can find more information about behaviour, discipline, and our exclusion protocol.
It is important to emphasise values that we should all uphold rather than promote images of 10 Downing Street or the British Prime Minister in hallways.
The school has three golden standards, and the kids were asked to come up with three simple principles that everyone could agree upon and build additional rules on behaviour, conduct, and personal development from.
The golden rules are to be kind (don't hurt people), share (don't grab), and participate (take turns).
Naturally, MPs and council members visit, and there have been visits to the London Parliament.
These assemblies are a component of the school's recurring themes, which are then displayed on banners all over the building.
The school's policies are reviewed and displayed, and they are repeated during anti-bullying week.
In sports, where rules are taught and enforced, fair play is essential, but it's also important on playgrounds.
The school strongly supports children's freedom to hold religious convictions and to express such convictions.
The country, and in particular the area in which we live, is a multicultural one, and diversity is celebrated. Despite this, the school's curriculum is predominately Christian-based.
Important festivals are acknowledged and honoured.
These are just a few illustrations of what our programme has to offer.
All students at the school are appreciated for their individual talents and abilities. A special school like ours champions the rights of the vulnerable.
Indeed, to serve as a constant reminder of our basic principles and goals, our school's motto, "preparing for life by building on our strengths," is prominently displayed on all of our publications and in the school hall.
Even so, the kids and staff continue to support a variety of charities and causes, including the Christmas shoebox appeal, Macmillan nurses, daring to wear pink, jeans for genes, and Guide dogs, to name a few.
