The status of Lyons Hall was changed to Academy on April 1, 2012. Ofsted rated it as an exceptional school in every way (2009). Since 2010 and since 2012, Lyons Hall has served as a National Support School and a teaching institution. A larger-than-average primary school, Lyons Hall. The number of kids receiving free school meals is lower than the national average. Around the national average, there are students with special educational needs. The majority of students come from white British families, while a sizeable portion come from various minority families and use English as a second language. In order to improve, the schools partnered in 2010 when the head of Lyons Hall was requested to serve as executive head of White Hall (formerly Coppins Green). The Learning Pathways Trust was established in 2012 to formally establish this cooperation.
