From the Boroughbridge High School
We are a comprehensive community school for students aged 11 to 18 that serves Boroughbridge and the surrounding area. We are a relatively small school with just around 600 kids, which offers us a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Boroughbridge High School is a terrific place to work and learn because we feel like a family and because we are able to get to know everyone of our students well. Because of our commitment to "Aspiration and Support for All," our students are at the centre of all of our decisions. We work hard to make sure that every student leaves our school not just with the credentials they need to continue their study or pursue their dream career, but also with the abilities and self-assurance to actively contribute to the communities to which they belong. To do this, we adapt our curriculum frequently in response to the shifting demands of our pupils. We started a Stage not Age curriculum for GCSE choice topics last year, and this academic year, we expanded on our dedication to helping students develop their leadership abilities by launching the Young Leaders Award. This will enhance already available options like the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and our School Council. We actively look for chances to enhance our methods and gain from collaborative efforts. As members of the White Rose Alliance and the Yorkshire Teaching School Alliance, we collaborate with two other neighbourhood high schools at the post-secondary level.
