Blue Coat is a prestigious state school that has helped shape Liverpool's boys and girls' lives for more than 300 years.
We take pride in offering free education to all of our students, ensuring that they reach their full academic potential and acquire the knowledge, skills, and morals necessary for success in life.
The Blue Coat School, which was initially established as a haven for the city's destitute, has grown into a school that reaches the highest academic standards for which it is famous throughout the city, the North West, and nationwide.
As the sole grammar school in Liverpool today, we are very diverse.
Visit our website to discover more about Blue Coat's way of life.
180 new students are accepted through our applications procedure into Year 7.
The majority of our Year 11 pupils love studying in the Sixth Form at Blue Coat after completing their GCSEs, where they are joined by fresh Sixth Form applicants from various nearby schools.
The school is a very popular choice where Year 7 and Year 12 hopefuls thrive due to its history, reputation, and offerings.
Beyond providing a top-notch academic education, we also give our students the tools they need to succeed and be happy.
When Ofsted rated Blue Coat as exceptional in all areas in 2012, they recognised our pride in both the services we provide and the impact they have on our pupils.

The Blue Coat School Reviews
1 (1 review)
Lots of the teachers put in minimal effort because they know the students are academically driven enough to just learn the syllabus by themselves. Very little encouragement in place for kids that aren't interested in going to Oxbridge or becoming doctors. Some of the teachers are just straight up bullies.
