I'm excited to welcome you to Barlby High School and give you a brief overview of our institution.
We are a warm, welcoming, and compassionate community school.
We gain from being a member of a much larger organisation by being a part of Hope Learning Trust, which helps us to grow our personnel and share resources.
The Hope Learning Trust gains from working with institutions that have a reputation for academic excellence as we continue to expand and be successful.
We were fortunate to join the York ISSP partnership this year, which is an equal collaboration of 12 secondary schools made up of nine state schools and three private schools, for the first time.
Equally significant is character development, and it is my hope that Barlby High students will know their own value and be self-assured, empathetic, and kind.
We started the Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award last year, and this year we're focusing on additional possibilities, including trips to Taize and working with communities in Malawi and Romania, on teaching our young people how to live in a community and develop both themselves and others.
It truly is a team effort; I have been the school's head for just over a year and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the students, faculty, and other members of the community.
