From the Ashmount Primary School
In the London Borough of Islington, there is a community school called Ashmount Primary School. We are a primary school with a nursery and two forms of entrance. We moved to a stunning, carbon-neutral building in the centre of Crouch Hill Park with the Parkland Walk just outside our door in January 2013. Our new school is fit to educate children in the 21st century, with lovely light and airy classrooms, a glass fronted library, a roof- top playground, growing spaces, sports facilities and the latest ICT equipment. Birdsong may be heard all around the school, and Parkland Walk's beautiful flora can be seen from every window. We are the heart of a vibrant, multiracial community where we appreciate both our individual variety and our shared civic duty. Children at Ashmount speak 34 different native tongues, with communities from all over the world represented. This enriches our school with a richness of cultural experience and knowledge, which we view as a rich and varied resource.
