From the Acocks Green Primary School
Acocks Green Primary School is a thriving, happy, multicultural primary school situated in the heart of Acocks Green village.
The school is accommodated in an Edwardian building built in 1908.
Over the past few years, it has undergone renovation and redecoration.
School has been very successful in winning bids: since 2014 we have managed to secure almost 1,000,000 to replace the entire roof as well as install a brand new dining room and kitchen.
In 2016 we spent nearly 200,000 to totally upgrade and refurbish our Nursery, and in 2017/18 we spent 400,000 installing a new toilet block.
In 2018/19 we are spending 100,000 refurbishing our outdoor play areas as well as an additional 50,000 on a new Wellness Hub to support mental health and well-being in school.
We have 2 state-of-the-art ICT suites, and in line with the latest technologies, we make extra PCs and tablets available across school thanks to our wireless networks.
Alongside modern technology school puts great emphasis on 'traditional' ways of learning, and we take great pride in our forest school, school garden, cookery rooms, library and music hub - all these elements enhance the broad curriculum which we offer to all our children.
