The Abbey School, a parish church of the Church of England and a voluntary aided institution, with close ties to St. Albans Cathedral. All facets of school life are infused with the Christian ethos of the schools. Church of England school inspectors (Section 48) rated the institution as "excellent" in June 2018. The school was deemed to be "excellent in most aspects of its work" by Ofsted in September 2008.
