The primary community special school Woolley Wood School serves boys and girls with severe and complicated learning challenges. Students in the school range in age from two and a half to plus ten. 98 students are registered as of September 2019. For students between the ages of two and five, there is a Foundation Stage class that incorporates the nursery, and for students between the ages of five and eleven, there are six further classes. Each Foundation Stage class has up to 20 students, a teacher, and up to 9 teaching assistants. Classes 1 through 8 have a maximum of 11 students each. There is one teacher and three teaching assistants in each class. Students get a lot of one-on-one care for their educational and care needs. In addition to their regular education, all of our teachers get additional training in working with children who have special needs. Given the complexity of meeting the needs of our students, teachers receive guidance and support from a variety of other experts from the Children and Young Peoples Department, the NHS/Primary Care trust, and Social Care. The setting and daily schedule are remarkably similar to those of other schools. However, the majority of students use Sheffield Education Department transportation to get to school. Some parents decide to drive their kids to school. The start and end times for the school day are 9.10 and 3.15. By recycling things like mobile phones, sunglasses, sustainable recycled paper, card, plastics, bottles, clothes, and batteries, Woolley Wood School participates in a number of recycling initiatives. Additionally, the school cultivates its own compost and plants resilient trees in its forested area. Magic Breakfast offers bagels, juice, and cereal. There are also fresh fruits, vegetables, and wholesome snacks prepared by the students. The remainder of the school is subsequently distributed by each class according to a rota.
