In the village of Welton, close to Lincoln, is the Church of England's William Farr Comprehensive School, which serves students aged 11 to 18.
On the site of the RAF Dunholme Lodge, a World War II bomber station that William Farr, the vicar of Welton, had purchased in 1946, it was opened in 1952.
Below is a list of our accomplishments and the shifting environment in which we have developed and changed over time.
The distinction of having the top comprehensive school A-level grades in England was attained by William Farr in 2001.
The atmosphere is respected and well-maintained, and the school has ample resources.
In order to give a completely remodelled foyer, the last step linking art with design and technology was finished in May 2008.
Baroness Sue Campbell inaugurated the fully renovated Physical Education facilities in 2012.
Shortly after, in 2015, the English and Science accommodations were expanded with the construction of a new Science laboratory and two classrooms.
In 2017, we expanded to our expanding space once again with a set of student support rooms and two more new classrooms, enabling the construction of a set of four specifically designated ICT and computing rooms.
Our well-respected and recently retired Headmaster, Mr. Paul Strong, officially launched this new construction.
The provision of a continuous curriculum with consistency and established quality must be one of the overriding benefits of a complete education at William Farr.
Our programme of care and guidance and the advancement of personal, social, and moral education depend heavily on continuity, which is achieved through an advanced programme of primary liaison and pupil induction.
The active community of William Farr recognises the demands made by its exceptional and steadily improving national reputation for a comprehensive and balanced curriculum far beyond what is required by the National Programs of Study. The community has a strong feeling of accomplishment, pride, and purpose.
With the outcomes of his initial vision and investment, the Rev. William Farr would be extremely happy.
