We cherish each student's and family's unique backgrounds at Whaplode Church of England Primary School, and we hold a range of activities and lessons to honour them.
A variety of curriculum topics with significant ties to the British Empire serve as the foundation for everything mentioned above.
Additionally, we examine democracy, law and order, and how we live in an inclusive community through PSHE and SEAL activities.
Students in Year 6 study in-depth material regarding World War Two and the role that the armed forces played in defending the British Empire.
Year 2 places a lot of emphasis on Florence Nightingale's contributions and how she helped British soldiers recover from their wounds in Scutari.
Many youngsters in the year group view Florence Nightingale as a role model because they find her work and strategy for improving hospitals to be both fascinating and motivating.
We also examine the efforts of West Indian nurse Mary Seacole, who made significant contributions to the treatment of wounded soldiers.
The school holds daily group worships that promote the traditional ideals of empathy, respect, and tolerance on a more broad level.
Every month, we focus on a different value, and past topics have included friendship, courage, honesty, love, respect, determination, tolerance, and creativity.
In addition to others, the kids have raised money for Children in Need, the Poppy Appeal, and Save the Children.
Children can learn about competition and enjoying accomplishment through our competitive sports programmes.
