From the Welton Primary School
At Welton, we have a deep love for kids and childhood. We think that children should be nourished while also being challenged in a particularly special learning atmosphere that celebrates each student's individuality. The Welton community is a community of learners. We offer a superior curriculum and learning strategy in order to nurture and develop the individual potential of each of our students. Giving students the chance to participate in their education through reflection and conversation ensures that they grow as learners and exhibit the ability to think critically and creatively. When children are explicitly taught to think, their confidence, speaking, and active listening skills increase, allowing them to interact effectively, solve issues, and learn on their own. In order to master skills and concepts for the highest levels of achievement and attainment, children need to have the higher thinking skill levels of synthesis, evaluation, analysis, and application, which are emphasised in our curriculum. Metacognition, also known as learning to learn, is at the centre of our curriculum's activities and objectives. Our work to promote and support the importance of a happy and memorable childhood is a focus of the rigorous, themed curriculum which maximise outdoor learning, visits, visitors and practical activities which enable pupils to work independently, co-operatively and in a leadership role to reflect, connect learning and master new skills.
