Upton Meadows Primary School

The Northampton Primary Academy Trust (NPAT) includes Upton Meadows Primary School, which is located on the still-expanding Upton area on the outskirts of Northampton. We currently have 420 students enrolled. Our school's building is highly distinctive and eco-friendly in design. We have wheelchair-accessible facilities and are completely accessible. We are incredibly fortunate to have a large playground, field, ball court, veggie patch, wild area, pond, and trim trail all on our property. On the estate, we also have a section of forestry commission land that we use for our forest school program. We are enthusiastic about outdoor education and want to have all year groups spend as much time outside learning as possible. At Upton Meadows, we have a wonderful library run by a librarian by the name of Mrs. Rew. Children can borrow books, share stories in the library, and participate in any number of competitions Mrs. Rew hosts throughout the year. Children can utilize the reading shed on the playground during lunch and recess. With representatives chosen from grades 2 through 6, our school council is active. They get together frequently to work on projects that the kids choose. We also have a committee dedicated to combating bullying, which was formed last year during Anti-Bullying Week. They had already gone through Blue Butterfly training provided by neighborhood police officers so they can assist kids who are the targets of bullying. This year, they will be establishing our entire school's anti-bullying strategy.
