From the Upper Wharfedale School
Thank you for visiting Upper Wharfedale School. Due to the small size of our school, we take pleasure in being inclusive and getting to know each of the 200 square miles from which our students come. We are a well-liked, oversubscribed non-selected school inside the Craven region's selective system. Our top concern is the kids, and we show this by giving them excellent instruction, demanding the best of them, and recognising all of their accomplishments, both academic and extracurricular. We make the most of our students' abilities and potential while promoting moral, social, and economic awareness so they can live confident, healthy, and responsible lives as both individuals and contributors to society. Our vision is built on a constant focus on excellent teaching and learning while removing obstacles to ensure that every student obtains the best results. We carefully plan our curriculum to foster high expectations, skills for lifelong learning, and cultural capital in a secure yet demanding setting. According to our most recent Ofsted report (June 2019), leaders are "uncompromising in their ambition," there is "an exceptional learning culture within the school" and "outcomes are truly outstanding in the widest sense.". I hope that our website will offer you a taste of life at Upper Wharfedale School (UWS), but if you'd like a deeper look, schedule a visit and come see for yourself.
