From the Tupton Primary and Nursery Academy
Respect for each other's beliefs and tolerance for those who practise any religion or none at all. At Tupton Primary and Nursery School, we continuously teach these values via our curriculum and daily interactions with pupils. We embrace British ideas in the following ways, to name just a few. Students elect class representatives (MPs) to speak on behalf of their class during school parliament sessions. An agreed-upon set of school principles is supported by all members of the community. It is emphasised in assemblies, field trips, PSHE classes, and topic work how important it is for everyone to uphold school rules and laws. by ensuring that our children are taught respect for others during school assemblies. As part of our Jigsaw RE programme, children are taught about a variety of religions, religious holidays, and those who do not practise any particular religion. Children learn about the significance of the places of worship of other religions. During assemblies, tales from numerous different religions and cultures are told. At Tupton, we fiercely challenge anyone who expresses viewpoints that go counter to our core values, particularly those that are extreme.
