Our Ofsted Outstanding Status is a huge source of pride, and we were honoured to obtain Beacon Status in recognition of our excellence and innovation in the learning and skills sector.
Ofsted commended governors and senior leaders for creating a climate in which success and learning surge as a result of excellent teaching.
Following the Outstanding Ofsted inspection, Truro and Penwith College gained numerous further accolades on a national level, including The Association of Colleges Beacon Awards for Leadership and Governance in 2017 and the Leading Light Award for Mental Health and Well-Being in 2018.
The maximum possible rating of Gold from the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), given to the Higher Education Provision, was only awarded to 20% of higher education providers.
Truro & Penwith College once again distinguished itself as one of the top performing public 1619 providers in the nation according to the Government's official national post-16 2019 Performance Tables for schools and colleges.
Penwith and Truro College were decided to be combined in 2006, and the process was completed in 2008.
In September 2020, Truro and Penwith College will start to offer the T Level certificate as a technical replacement for A Levels in the sectors of construction, digital technology, education, and childcare.
It is the sole supplier from Cornwall and one of just two in Devon and Cornwall selected to teach the new Technical Levels.
