Children ages 2 to 5 are invited at Townley to participate in a range of engaging, entertaining, and instructive activities in a pleasant and relaxed setting.
You can read more about our early years unit here.
Our Pre-School is managed by a qualified teacher as an early years unit with our reception students.
Please send your child to preschool with a pair of wellies that can be left there.
Before washing their hands and heading to the school dining hall with their friends to have their packed lunches or school meals, the children staying for lunch or attending the afternoon session come and join us for some group time at 12 o'clock.
We prefer that parents or carers enter the unit for collections at 3 p.m., pick up their kid, and then leave through the double doors that open onto the deck.
Staff may now communicate with parents thanks to this.
The updated Early Years Foundation Stage serves as the educational foundation for Townley Pre-schools.
In the Early Years Foundation Stage, young children learn through play and exploration.
It aids in their social and emotional growth as well as their ability to comprehend the world around them.
By letting kids make their own decisions, we help kids grow up to be independent.
Before entering preschool, a "key person" is assigned to each kid.
To get to know the child and his or her parents or carers in their home setting, the key person will schedule a home visit.
This allows parents and other carers to raise any questions they may have while also giving us time to learn about the child's preferences.
The child's primary carer will look after them and track their development.
The child's interests will guide the planning of purposeful activities, which will include both adult-led and child-initiated elements.
We use the learning journals that each child gets to record observations and pictures from their time in preschool.
