School Ethos
I will show you my faith by my works......James 2:18
As a Church of England school the Christian ethos is at the heart of the school and the school moto runs through all that we do and achieve at Sunningwell.
We hold Collective Worship each day, where both staff and children join together at this time. We also have a group of volunteers from our local churches who come to these services every other week and retell to the children a story from the Bible. It has even inspired the children to try to recreate stories themselves. We also have regular visits from Reverend Rob whom the children love to see, and are very keen to form an active part in his worships.
The school follows the Oxford Diocesan Scheme of Work which works hand in hand with the Oxfordshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.
The School had its SIAMS inspection in March 2016, in which it was deemed to be "Good" in its inspection grade.
"distinctive Christian values understood by all stakeholders underpin a caring community which supports a growing confidence and sense of self-worth in pupils"
