Serving and leading as the headteacher of St. John Payne Catholic School is a blessing and an honour for me.
In the neighbourhood and beyond, we have long had a sterling reputation as a community of study and faith.
It is a reputation that is in large part due to the excellent formation that students receive from our feeder schools. Generations of students, teachers, parents and carers, and clergy have contributed to its development, and their relationships with the school continue to bring them great warmth, affection, and the highest regard.
We are very conscious of the overarching goal that supports our long history of academic excellence and spiritual care.
At St. John Payne, where children are known and loved as persons made in the likeness of Christ, and where we feel fortunate to contribute to their education, the words of Jesus to those disciples who would deny the children access to him are prevalent in our minds and hearts.
We uphold discipline with dignity while keeping steadfast in our pursuit of high standards to assist students' development on all fronts—spiritual, social, moral, and academic.
Students are supported and urged to reach their full potential and develop into the finest versions of themselves—the individuals God made them to be—across the board.
This is demonstrated through the students' eagerness to learn, sense of community, and testimony to our faith.
