For churches in England and Wales, A Rocha UK offers the Eco Church award programme.
We are pleased to report that St. James Church received a Bronze Eco Church Award on February 25, 2020.
It all began with a tiny eco group in Woodley that was interested in evaluating our Garden of Eden and coming up with suggestions for how we may better care for God's creation.
We earned a Bronze award in 2020.
However, we have only just begun here in Woodley to take care of God's creation.
We shall carry on with our efforts in the hopes of receiving a Silver award, leading both people and churchgoers on a journey.
We welcome new members as we continue to strive for our Silver Eco Award.
Prior to Lent beginning, we worked on enhancing the church grounds for wildlife as part of our progress toward our Bronze certification.
Why not begin this decade with some fresh eco-friendly home and cleaning ideas?
First, before disposing of anything, check to see if it can be recycled using all 8 of the Rs:-.
In 2020, zero waste can begin.
Why not consider keeping part of your Christmas decorations from year to year?
Until next year, package things up and store them in a cupboard or the loft.
Don't want to keep anything!
Think of your goods as garbage?
Check to see if the item may be recycled at the curb or by bringing it to the recycling facilities in Reading Smallmead or Bracknell Longsot Lane.

Undoubtedly, using natural cleaning products is better for the environment.
Why not try using newspaper to clean your windows instead of paper towels in the kitchen? You can also make reusable rags from tea towels, tea towels, or old t-shirts.
Mirrors in Windows:
Spray mirrors or windows with an equal mixture of white vinegar and water, then wipe down with a lint-free cloth or newspaper.
Think about switching to a reusable mop head and bucket from a single-use mop.
There are many different environmentally friendly cleaning products now on the market if you are unsure about utilising them.
Consider going paperless this year or this decade by embracing electronic correspondence.
Consider receiving your statements, bulletins, and receipts through email rather than sifting through mountains of paper.
Additionally, it will keep your workplace and office tidy.
