The mission of Sir William Borlase's Grammar School is to provide a stimulating learning environment for both students and faculty, enabling young people to realise their aspirations and ambitions, and assisting them in gaining the self-assurance to influence their own futures and, in turn, the future of the world in which they live. The school motto, chosen by those early scholars back in 1624, encapsulates our ideals today. Te Digna Sequere, which translates to "Follow things Worthy," is the guiding philosophy behind the school's unique ethos. It serves as a reminder to each of us that we should make decisions with a clear moral purpose, that we should regard each other as members of a supportive community, and that we all have the ability to use our unique abilities to improve Borlase and the world around us. Borlasians are active in their local communities and donate to charities on a local, national, and worldwide level. Every year, hundreds of students complete the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and each week, more than a hundred sixth-graders assist in teaching in nearby primary schools. Emails addressed to the leadership team of the school should be sent to [email protected] or [email protected].
