The school is located in the village of Shellingford, in the Vale of White Horse, in the southwest region of Oxfordshire. Children between the ages of four and eleven receive an excellent education at our lovely rural primary school. The school, which was established in 1873, was until 1966 housed in a cottage next to the church. On the location of our current school once stood a mediaeval castle, which was later replaced by a manor house in the sixteenth century, which was then completely destroyed by fire. When the grounds fell into disrepair, they were donated to the Mann Trust in 1946, allowing for the construction of the current school. Our school's structure is made up of an original portion and an adjacent "new construct" that debuted in September 2008. In June 2011, a distinct Foundation Stage Unit was inaugurated. A 2000-built community hall is connected to the school. The school has a sizable campus with access to several acres of village-owned woodland. We are a small village school with strong ties to the neighbourhood and St. Faith's church, which is an integral component of school life. The children work and play with different age groups which results in a strong family atmosphere amongst pupils, parents, staff and friends.
