Salesian is a Catholic school community that enjoys success and has a long-standing reputation for excellence. We are a mixed, comprehensive school that serves children aged 11 to 18 with a range of needs. We work with more than 1600 students, 400 of whom are enrolled in our sixth form college, which has a separate campus. In September 2016, we joined the Xavier Catholic Education Trust as an academy. The first Salesian, St. John Boscoideology ,'s is what makes our institution unique (1815-1888). High educational requirements as well as a solid moral and religious education were stressed. In his schools, he insisted on creating a welcoming environment where the concept of community could be fostered. Our community's success depends on strong bonds between all of its members. Our school's motto, "Enlightening minds, elevating hearts," was inspired by Don Bosco's writings. We work hard to provide a positive learning environment for all of our students so they can graduate with a high degree of self-confidence and outstanding test scores. An outstanding group of teachers and support personnel work together to achieve these objectives through excellent instruction, strong pastoral care, and a wide variety of extracurricular sporting, cultural, physical, and social activities. As a certified Teaching School, we are committed to excellent learning and teaching, professional development, and aiding schools in need. Our goal is to improve education for all students. Additionally, Teach SouthEast, the region's top facility for initial teacher training, is led by us and SJB in Woking. This page contains further information about our ethos, standards, and operational procedures.
