Ethos & Values > About Our goals at Rockcliffe First School are to: Offer a structured, exciting environment in which every child can succeed. Develop each child's knowledge, abilities, experiences, and imaginative understanding. Provide students with a carefully thought-out, comprehensive, and balanced curriculum with a focus on their successful acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills. Encourage innovation across the board, but especially in the arts; Encourage each youngster to adopt a courteous, caring attitude toward others and to view diversity favourably. To accomplish our goals, we will: Individualize learning for each student, taking into account their preferences for learning styles as well as the unique needs of identified cohorts like students who are gifted and talented, those for whom English is a second language, and those with special educational needs. Give kids the chance to grow physically through enjoyable activities that they can continue doing in the future. Make sure that the school's ethos, which is demonstrated via interactions, rituals, and policies in addition to the formal curriculum, provides opportunity for kids to grow spiritually, ethically, culturally, and socially every day. Make an effort to ensure that each member of the staff, class, school, and other teams feels content, appreciated, and able to contribute meaningfully to our school. Create in children a passion for learning and an investigative attitude that will prepare them to be lifelong learners. Provide a variety of "enhancement" activities, both within the school day and via out of hours clubs, to enrich children's experience further and allow them to participate in creative, linguistic or sporting activities to which they might not otherwise be given access.
