From the Ringwood Junior School
On the border of the New Forest, Ringwood Junior School serves the Ringwood neighbourhood. 384 students in this three-form entrance school range in age from seven to eleven. The original school structure, which was constructed in 1910 and has three classrooms, a library, and a reception hall. As the school grew, more additions were made in the 1980s and 1990s. Today, the three structures—topped by the original bell tower—form a distinctive and exquisite school that combines history and modernity. There are spacious grounds with a sports pavilion, two playgrounds, a pond area, and a wide playing field. The Ellington and Ringwood Rugby Club, with whom we have developed strong community ties, uses the field on the weekends and in the evenings. We take great pride in being a community school and taking an active part in events like the Bickerley Green Family Fun Day, the Parish Church Carol Service, and the Ringwood Carnival. In the centre of Ringwood, the school has long had a positive reputation thanks to the numerous families who have sent generations of children there.
