Our school has historically seen a significant amount of population turnover, which is reflected in the large number of kids on our waiting list today.
Children love going to school and are happy here, yet we are oversubscribed!
The Mapledene and Queensbridge Children's Center is another "Outstanding" children's facility we have.
Our head teacher, Sarah Bailey OBE, is a National Leader of Education and an Associate Ofsted inspector. Future Stars Teaching School Alliance is also a National Teaching School.
30% of our students have special education needs, and 27 of them have full-time statements for a range of conditions, including global delay, hearing loss, vision loss, autism, Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, difficulty speaking and understanding others, Moebius syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Down syndrome and numerous other special needs contribute to our school's distinctiveness, vibrancy, diversity, and respect for one another.
Additionally, 65% of our youth speak English in addition to their native tongue.
Social Services has a big database of children, and many families have been sent to them for assistance.
We effectively cultivate our own, and we are currently a National Teaching School.
This was reflected in our school, but now there are a lot of kids on the waiting list, and once they obtain a place, the kids stay!
Mobile students have a variety of demands because they frequently don't attend school regularly or have English as a second language.
We have a significant amount of pupil premium, which is used extremely wisely, and we are PP System Leaders who lead workshops where we share our knowledge and best practises with other countries.
Since 2010, the school has received three exceptional Ofsted ratings for Early Years and Extended Services. The school took on Queensbridge and Mapledene Children's Center in September 2009.
It has been brought into compliance with the school's excellent tracking and care procedures.
In this impoverished part of Hackney, it now provides broad extended services including a pretty good child care option.
