At Puddletown First School, we think every child can contribute to the community at large and to our school.
We want to help each child develop their self-belief in their limitless capacity for growth because we believe in the power of "yet."
Instead of saying "I can't do it," say "I can't do it...yet."
We exhort the kids to take on challenges and view failure as a step in the learning process.
Our school is based on four basic ideals that we have established.
Responsibility taking ownership of our behaviour and the impact it has on both ourselves and other people.
gaining knowledge of taking up care of the world.
realising that mistakes are inevitable and that we may learn from them.
As a Church School, we employ these throughout our Collective Worship when we use the example of Christ as the Light in the World. They originate from the example and teachings of Jesus.
Through the application of these ideals and the celebration of accomplishment through our "Shining Light" award, we feel that all of our children have the potential to shine.
We are confident that these principles, along with the family-centered culture we foster at Puddletown First, will help our students become global citizens who defend the ideals of a contemporary, intelligent, diverse, and democratic society.
