From the Preston Muslim Girls High School
Since we originally started our school in 1989, operating out of an old industrial building with just the most basic amenities but with tonnes of energy, ambition, drive, and dedication, it has been an exciting and fulfilling adventure.
Our goal was, and still is, to offer our students a world-class educational experience while also fostering their spiritual and social development and assisting them in becoming respected members of society through the teachings of Islam.
Since those early days, we've evolved and grown, and today we're happy to have relocated to our brand-new school facilities in Deepdale, close to Preston's city centre, with great access to amenities and public transportation.
The school has been constructed to include the best educational technology and learning spaces available today, as well as a number of crucial characteristics associated with our Islamic faith, like richly carpeted hallways and prayer rooms where students can pray the Zohar Salah in a comfortable setting during the colder months.
In keeping with our progressive philosophy, PMGHS has made significant investments to develop an ICT suite that is genuinely exceptional. We firmly believe in the benefits of e-learning.
Additionally, our facilities provide complete Wi-Fi connectivity, and all teaching spaces have the newest interactive projectors to encourage effective, individualised learning.
We are adamant that this extensive extracurricular programme, coupled with our Islamic principles, aids in the development of girls into the well-rounded, caring citizens that all parents wish for their daughters to become.
We have been Lancashire's top-performing secondary school for progress over the past three years.
Our progress score increased this year, and the school is currently ranked 11th in the nation.
Mahima Firdous is the student who has made the most improvement; on average, she has advanced nearly three grades beyond what was anticipated of her.
The top grades 7, 8, and 9 (which are comparable to grades A and A*) made up more than half of all grades earned.
