The Potten End C of E Primary School is located in the heart of this charming village in Hertfordshire's south-west, between the cities of Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead.
The original Potten End School was constructed in 1856 and operated under religious supervision until 1950.
Children transferred to middle school at age 9 and Potten End School became a first school.
With students ages 4 to 11 starting in September 2014, Potten End School will once again be a primary institution.
In 1960, a brand-new school building was constructed, and a second phase was added in 1968.
After that, a preschool was constructed on a portion of the school's grounds that had previously housed the nursery class.
The school switched from oil to gas for its central heating in 2006.
This made it possible for the Nursery Class to join the main school.
In the spring and summer of 2014, construction on the new classrooms needed for the expansion began.
The portacabin was destroyed to make place for the enlargement, and three environmentally friendly classrooms were constructed with photovoltaic panels so that the structure could be powered entirely by renewable energy.
The school's main building has a sizable, well-equipped hall.
