Quick insights from ofsted Powered by AI

This insight was generated by AI, based on latest Ofsted report.

Foundational Skills: Typically, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment is now consistently good across the school.
Success of the Curriculum: Leaders have skilfully crafted a curriculum that provides pupils with opportunities to gain good knowledge, understanding and skills in a wide range of subjects.
Areas Needing Improvement: Sometimes, teachers do not provide pupils with enough opportunities to apply their mathematical skills in science.
Performance in Maths & Reading: Over time, all pupils’ progress at the end of key stage 2 in reading and mathematics has been well below average. This was particularly the case for disadvantaged pupils. Leaders’ actions have been effective in improving most current pupils’ progress in these subjects.
Support for Falling Behind: Leaders thoroughly check pupils’ progress and attainment to ensure that no pupil is left behind. They use their checks adeptly to identify and close gaps in pupils’ learning.
Behaviour and Attitudes: Pupils’ behaviour is good. They are friendly and respectful. They are courteous to each other, adults and visitors.
Support for SEND Pupils: Leaders use the funds wisely to identify and support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well. For example, they capitalise on the expertise of other professionals, such as speech and language therapists.
Managing Bullying and Pupil Safety: Pupils report that bullying rarely happens at their school. There are systems in place, such as the ‘school’s online portal’ and the ‘worry teddy bear’ that they can access to raise their concerns, and adults respond quickly. Pupils report that they can talk to adults in the school, who take their concerns seriously.
Promotion of Welfare and Safety: Leaders and staff provide good opportunities to support pupils’ physical, emotional, and mental well-being. For example, pupils receive therapeutic support and counselling to meet their emotional needs.
Parent Feedback: Most parents agree that their children are safe, happy and well looked after at school.
Parental Involvement: Leaders take effective action to ensure that pupils attend school regularly. Attendance is above the national average.
Teacher Engagement: Leaders use their checks adeptly to identify and close gaps in pupils’ learning. Additionally, leaders use these assessments well to identify teachers’ training needs to improve the quality of their teaching and outcomes for pupils in their respective classes.
Impact on Student Progress: Since the last inspection, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment has improved. As a result, most pupils make good progress. A very large majority of parents agree that their children are taught well.
Teaching Staff Challenges: Sometimes, the most able pupils are not sufficiently challenged in their learning. As a result, these pupils do not make the progress of which they are capable.
Assessment of Teaching Quality: The work in these pupils’ books shows that sometimes the tasks set do not enable pupils to deepen their learning.

Our family of schools, including Peareswood Primary School, has a responsibility to give our kids the resources they need to access their education and develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
I'd like to present myself as the Executive Head Teacher for Lime Wood Free School, which is being developed alongside Peareswood Primary School.
In light of this, it is my desire that during the school year, your kids will chat to you when they get home from school about what they learned and the amazing opportunities they had.
Our curriculum will be centred on character education and metacognition/growth mindset to ensure that we are producing future citizens who will treat others with respect.
There are numerous programmes in place to support this growth, and throughout the year, you will hear terminology like "champions," "thinking hats," "skills," and "maps" used to describe the tools we are implementing to get your kid ready for the future on a social, emotional, and academic level.
