We are a village school in Melton Mowbray's vicinity, and we uphold traditional village school ideals. The finest learners, in our opinion at Old Dalby, are those who are confident and happy. With this in mind, we are constantly looking for new ways to motivate our students so that they maintain their enthusiasm for learning throughout their time with us. Our curriculum is structured to offer opportunities for cross-curricular learning that keep our students inspired to put in a lot of effort. We hold our students to high standards in a stimulating environment. The energetic classrooms and colourful school setting are clear indications of the effort and enthusiasm of our students. Everybody's life goes through a unique phase called primary school during which a lot of important foundations are set. In light of this, we think that self-worth, aspiration, accountability, security, acceptance, and perseverance are crucial. At Old Dalby, we encourage kids to think broadly, pose inquiries, conduct analyses, and make judgements in order to better prepare them for whatever challenges they may encounter in a nurturing and secure setting. All that we do, teach, and experience is based on our Christian values of love, honesty, strength, courage, community, democracy, teamwork, and friendship. Our school's attitude is reflected in our motto, "Together We Will," which expresses how much we can accomplish when we work together.
