We sincerely hope you enjoy browsing our website and discover the details you're looking for.
This website seeks to provide current information for parents, students, and the larger community while also giving you a sense of the school.
As you may already be aware, we are the local co-educational Special School for day students with severe and/or complex needs who range in age from 2 to 18 and who also struggle with communication and learning.
Since November 2012, I have had the honour of leading Oakley School, and since September 2018, I have served as Executive Head of Oakley School and Oakley College.
In addition to teaching the core subjects of math, English, science, and art, among others, we are ambitious for our students and provide a rich curriculum. We encourage practical learning in areas like life skills, food technology, and learning outside the classroom, which includes horticulture and construction.
We integrate technology across the entire curriculum, spanning all areas.
For children and young people to learn more about themselves and the world around them, we also provide a wide range of enrichment programmes, excursions, and residential experiences both domestically and abroad.
When Ofsted last inspected us in March 2015, we received a GOOD overall rating (after being given a "needs improvement" rating in March 2013).
But don't just take my word for it; come visit us (by appointment only), see for yourself, chat with faculty and students, and take a look around. Only then will you truly get a sense of our unique institution.
Please explore our website to learn more about us in the interim.
