The Methodist Church participates in education as a component of its global Christian mission. Its educational diversity is enhanced by the Methodist culture reflected in its schools. Methodist Schools are friendly and inclusive places where relationships are treasured, good order is upheld, and excellence in all of its forms (academic, extracurricular, and lifestyle) is sought for. No of the child's capacity, we strive to maintain excellent educational standards in all academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities by encouraging excitement in learning and requiring discipline in study. Each student receives special attention, and everyone is given the chance to reach their full potential. Methodist Independent Schools have been offering a top-notch, well-rounded education since John Wesley founded Kingswood School in 1748. MIST currently has oversight of 14 independent schools and collaborates closely with six additional independent Methodist foundation schools. MIST collaborates closely with schools in the maintained sector whenever possible and serves as a lead sponsor of the Wesley Trust. 66 Methodist or joint Methodist Anglican schools in the public sector are supported and guided by MAST. MAST oversees the SIAMS inspection procedure for Methodist schools and offers a venue for the exchange of best practises and the recognition of achievement. A Multi Academy Trust (MAT), The Wesley Trust accepts schools from all denominations and none at all. The Wesley Trust seeks to take advantage of cooperative opportunities and shares the values of Methodist Schools generally.
