On the eastern side of Northampton, there is a warm and accepting 11–18 school called Northampton Academy. Every year group is full or overcrowded, and this year saw a record number of applications for our highly intellectual Sixth Form of Character. This is partly because of how well we did in school. At the GCSE level, this year's results set records for achievement: 64% of students received five or more 9-4 marks, including English and math, and 67% of students passed both subjects. I'm happy to see that our Progress 8 score has increased to +0.64 and I'm pleased of all of our students and staff for the diligence and dedication it took to get us to this point. This result shows that, on average, our students are doing much above what would be expected of them in each of their subject areas.
