From the North Town Academy
The 1907 construction of North Town Academy, which houses North Town Primary School and North Town Nursery, is located close to Taunton's city centre. Due to its antiquity and location, it is a very appealing structure, and tourists frequently remark on how roomy and airy it seems. In the fourteen classrooms of the school, there are interactive whiteboards, iPad banks, wifi laptops, and PCs. A big hall, a sensory room, and a special needs department with ample resources are additional accommodations. The nursery is a 49-week facility that provides children ages two to four with high-quality care and education. The Academy operates a full-service catering kitchen that provides 230 meals each day on average, including vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free alternatives. The Twitter Feeds Page has further details regarding the children's cooking courses, which are also offered to them. Additionally, the Academy features sizable, well-maintained play areas and an Environmental Garden where kids may grow their own fruits, vegetables, and flowers. We take pride in our physical education and sporting offerings, and we are one of just a handful of schools in Somerset to have received the Schools Game Platinum accreditation for its PE and sports curriculum, which incorporates both traditional sports and stand-up paddle boarding. We are lucky to have access to a neighbouring recreation area, which we utilise extensively for general games instruction, sports clubs, interschool competitions, and sports days. We have also formed strong ties with Somerset Cricket Club and have had the good fortune to represent the school in Somerset and England matches. Most recently, we joined the Bangladesh Cricket Team at a World Cup 2019 Coaching Clinic. The North Town Academy Trust formally merged with the Richard Huish Trust in April 2019.
