From the North Durham Academy
I am incredibly happy to be serving the community of Stanley and the surrounding region as the Principal of North Durham Academy, having previously served as the successful and experienced leader of three different schools. The goal of North Durham Academy is to provide students with an exemplary education. Children are our top focus and the cornerstone of my leadership. The fundamental principles that underpin The NDA Way were developed by student input. The values express what the students believe all NDA members should strive to be like, in their own words. The NDA way—kindness, optimism, honesty, resolve, and respect—gives us a foundation for creating a shared vocabulary for talking about all facets of learning. The ties we build with our parents and elementary schools serve as the foundation for our care. Our goal is to increase each child's prospects for success in life by making great achievement and progress the norm for all kids. To enable instructors to educate, support staff to improve, and kids to feel safe and learn, we consequently demand high standards of behaviour and attitudes toward learning. This manual is intended to provide some insight into our vision and ethos. Please accept my open welcome to drop by the Academy at any moment in order to personally experience it.
