From the Moor House School & College
Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother, on her 1953 visit to Moor House, was our first patron. The first school of its kind, Moor House School, opened its doors in June 1947. It was founded by speech therapist Mrs. Hudson Smith, principal of the West End School for Speech Therapy in London, and neurologist Dr. Worster-Drought. From 1947 to 2011, Moor House only housed residential students. Day students were first accepted in 2011, and in 2012 we expanded by adding a sixth form centre and changing our name to Moor House School & College. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, who supported the school's efforts and paid a visit in 1953, served as the institution's first patron. The fact that HRH Countess of Wessex is our Patron is a great blessing for MHS&C. Her Royal Highness has frequently visited the facility in support of the School & College's work and most recently did so in November 2016 to officially launch the Residential Village. Since 1947, pioneering work in speech and language therapy and teaching methods has continued at Moor House and our research expertise is shared with the international community through our newly established Research and Training Institute. We appreciate you supporting our efforts. Get in touch with us to learn more about Moor House's remarkable work or to schedule a visit.

wasn’t the right school for me the school years are true we are taught unfairly by teachers, there is a lot of pressure to after you leave there, they say you will find a job with what they have taught us and it’s just not the case. when I left I found my own way running my own errands & I’m now into a med school where I will work across the world, whoever read...
wasn’t the right school for me never was really school years were okay it’s true the teachers are unfair on us you are taught that you will find a career after & that’s not how life works it was the decision to leave that I knew I made the right choice I chose a career of my own and now am in Med School
Toxic school, teachers shouting at children, inappropriate use of language. oppressive environment. High staff turnover, lots of unhappy parents.
