From the Millthorpe School
Millthorpe is proud to be a good school at the centre of our aspirational community. Our mission is to equip our young people for the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities of adult life by ensuring the highest level of qualifications, by developing them socially, emotionally and culturally, and by giving them opportunities both to lead and to help others. While we do have a very strong focus on academic outcomes, education should develop a child's character as well, and I hope you take the time to look at our Values and Expectations which tell you much about us and what we want for our young people. We exhort our kids to put in a lot of effort, to persevere in the face of setbacks, and to provide a hand to others. Although the school was established shortly after the First World War and our past shapes who we are, our outlook is genuinely contemporary. At Millthorpe, we make sure that every student is well taken care of and that there are very high expectations for everyone of us—students, staff, and leaders. I'm happy to be the headteacher at Millthorpe because the staff and governors are dedicated to making it a great school.
