We have revised our curriculum over the past year with Millhouse students at its centre. We are happy to offer a broad and balanced curriculum that teaches via subjects.
We are fortunate that several of our teaching staff have experience working and living abroad, and their connections have a positive impact on these projects.
Bringing knowledge to life is a crucial aspect of our learning process, and we take great pride in include informative field trips in our curriculum.
Extremely well-behaved, diligent students are a result of our teaching methods, and we use a range of incentives to encourage excellent behaviour.
At Millhouse Primary School, students are assigned to one of four school teams: Hartcliffe, Royd, Bullhouse, or Langsett. Each team receives points for excellence in work product, good conduct, politeness, and helpfulness.
The purpose of these weekly assemblies is to recognise the children's accomplishments from the previous week, whether they were academically successful, participated in extracurricular activities outside of school, completed projects, or simply shown excellent behaviour in various contexts.
Through our Super Star initiative, outstanding work is also recognised, and a reward draw happens during our weekly celebration assemblies.
Children who exhibit excellent behaviour during the week at school are given "Golden Time," a unique play period during which teachers conduct engaging clubs that the kids themselves sign up for.
The "Traffic Light Warning System" is employed to keep track of a person's appropriate and inappropriate behaviour.
