From the Lynn Grove Academy
Our magnificent library, which is open every day from 8:00 am to 17:20 pm and is a favourite among students, is the centre of Lynn Grove School. It supports our mission of encouraging students to read.
Over 17,000 books are housed in the air-conditioned, open-plan library.
In order to help students develop their ability to learn independently, teachers bring them to the library for reading lessons and topic research.
Students are welcome to use the PCs to improve their assignments by printing and scanning materials from the library.
Mrs. Bowles, the head librarian, is delighted to assist students in finding the books and authors who will captivate and delight them.
The library is a very well-liked place to work quietly on assignments, review material, or coursework.
Senior students have weekend access to the library for individual and assisted exam preparation during the exam period.
The leadership opportunities provided by the library are enthusiastically embraced by the students.
Additionally, clubs and reading groups meet in the library, giving students fantastic opportunities to meet new, like-minded people from other year groups.
Some freshmen students might want to apply to be librarians so they can help organise and distribute books during lunch and breaks.
The library often conducts author visits because we know that doing so encourages our children to read more and hone their own creative writing.
All incoming students will attend library orientation seminars where library personnel will explain how to use the library to its fullest potential.
This has proven to be an incredibly effective strategy for getting students to use the facility.
We can never have enough copies of these excellent works, therefore if you would like to contribute a book to the library, I would like to recommend the Clip Carnegie Medal Anniversary top ten of the past 70 years.
