Our school is active and pleasant, with lots going on. This website seeks to provide current information for parents, students, and the larger community while also giving you a sense of the school. With 320 enrolled students, Lower Darwen Primary School offers education to kids between the ages of 4 and 11. The Lower Darwen settlement is home to this contemporary-style school. The main road into Blackburn and J4 of the M65 are both adjacent to the school, which provides convenient access to the highway. The school offers ten regular classes and a resourced classroom for hearing-impaired students from the Blackburn with Darwen neighbourhood. There are two playgrounds, a recently installed Multi-games area, and an enclosed garden at the school, which is located on large grounds. A sizable playing field is also present at Lower Darwen Primary School. In addition to offering after-school care through its Happy Days after-school club and Rise and Shine breakfast club, the school also provides its own lunch service. The school is well-resourced and has two learning resource centres, a recently renovated Key Stage One block, a brand-new Key Stage Two building, a library with an electronic booking system, and good outdoor learning spaces for the Foundation Stage. The school is also proud of its connections to the neighbourhood. Through the work of the FOLD, it has connections with the church, colleges and universities, and its parents (Friends of Lower Darwen).
