From the Longmeadow Primary School
Our comprehensive and balanced curriculum at Longmeadow Primary School actively promotes these core British principles, enabling us to better prepare our students for life in contemporary Britain.
We vehemently oppose any radical viewpoints expressed by students, faculty, or parents that are at odds with fundamental British values.
The student voice is a tool for improving the school.
We encourage parents to record their opinions via Parent View.
We make improvements to our school via comments.
Children gain an awareness of law that is appropriate for their age through assemblies and values-based education.
Children who are older are aware of the repercussions of disobeying the law.
We provide internet safety workshops and maintain communication with the neighbourhood PCSOs.
Every youngster is conscious of their entitlement to safety.
Nothing too terrible should prevent our kids from talking to an adult at school, they are instructed.
Children's differences are valued.
Each child is known and cared for individually, and regular circle time or class discussion provide kids a chance to express their thoughts and feelings in a secure setting.
It is encouraged for kids to have opportunities to assume more responsibility at school.
The Longmeadow 3 R's are a clear set of guidelines for appropriate behaviour.
These establish the Longmeadow Way and compromise the Be Ready, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible tenets of our school.
The school's behaviour policy is used to deal with children who insult one another, and parents are involved.
It takes some time to talk about disrespectful behaviour.
Participation of the school in Anti-Bullying Week.
Bullying is explained to kids, along with how to deal with it.
They learn to respect others and value their differences from their own.
Children are urged to take ownership of their actions and are given assistance when necessary in order to overcome conflicts and mend relationships.
The school adheres to the Hertfordshire RE Syllabus, which guarantees that the students are taught about all major world faiths.
As part of this, kids are given the chance to bring and discuss items related to their own cultures, religions, or worldviews.
We have multicultural resources in school to aid our RE / multicultural teaching such as ethnic dolls and faith books.
Part of our vision at Longmeadow is to prepare the children to become valued members of society.
Promoting British values enables children to develop a sense of community and begin to understand their responsibilities and role within it.
