From the Lee Brigg Infant and Nursery School
On October 1, 2015, Lee Brigg Infant & Nursery School became an academy and joined the Waterton Academy Trust. The school proudly serves the Wakefield neighbourhoods of Altofts and Normanton and is open to students between the ages of 3 and 7. The school's 52-seat nursery offers 3-hour learning sessions in the morning or the afternoon. The maximum number of students who can be admitted into the reception, first, and second years is 45. Our Victorian structure is fully furnished and provides a welcoming, roomy, and energetic learning atmosphere. A fun outdoor learning area that includes a garden and playground completes it. Our playground has been significantly enhanced this year thanks to the arrival of a multipurpose PE and sport space provided through Sport England's Primary Spaces fund. Our winning proposal got the greatest amount of funding, which enables us to now offer a fantastic space for kids to be active and play sports with one another. Students at Lee Brigg consistently meet excellent standards. For the past three years, both in the foundation stage and key stage one, our students' outcomes have been much better than those of students nationwide. This is due to the equal priority placed on both learning growth and childhood. We urge each of our students to reach their full potential as learners and to stand out as unique individuals. The staff at Lee Brigg Infant School is committed and caring, the governing board is devoted, and the Friends of Lee Brigg organisation is active. The staff and volunteers at Lee Brigg Infant School are expected to share this commitment to ensuring the welfare of all children.
