The T.A. Collins-designed Langmoor School welcomed its first students in April 1955.
It was the first school in Leicestershire to be finished after the war and was built for Junior (7–11 year old) only students at a cost of 51,000.
In 1995, a time capsule was affixed to the plinth along with a list of names to mark the school's founding.
The feeder school for Langmoor, Sandhurst Infants, was shut down, the two schools were combined, and in September 1982, Langmoor became a 4+ entry primary school, losing its 10+ students to Gartree High School.
The racetrack is represented by the horseshoes since Class 3 could see the long mile when the school first opened in 1955.
The three birds represent the Martin family, and Col. Martin served as council chairman when the school first opened.
Martins was also visible on the playing surface.
The first deputy head, who had a passion for heraldry, created the badge.
The College of Heraldry acknowledged it after registering it.
With the creation of our Multi Academy Trust, a new badge was recently created for us.
As you can see, we have preserved the badge's primary components.
To adopt a unified style, all of the schools in the Multi Academy trust had their badges redone.
In honour of our 60th anniversary, which was in April 2015, the kids created a stained glass window for the hall with the help of Mrs. Jackie Browne.
