In North Yorkshire, halfway between the rural settlements of Kirkby-in-Cleveland and Great Broughton, sits our little, exceptional village Church of England school. We have very close ties to the people of both villages, the Diocese of York, and the parish church of St. Augustines in Kirkby. The school's playground and several of its windows offer breathtaking views of the Cleveland Hills. The Henry Edmonds Trust, which was established with the goal of educating the young people in the neighbourhood, founded the school. In the beginning, there were two schools, one in each village. Kirkby was established in 1683 for boys, while Great Broughton was exclusively for girls. In 1974, the two schools were combined into a single, newly constructed institution, laying the groundwork for the institution we know today. Archbishop Donald Coggan performed the school's official inauguration. In November 2017, our most recent Ofsted report reaffirmed Kirkby and Great Broughton's status as a "good" school.
