The top private school in Southampton, King Edward's has a separate prep school as well as several amenities. It has been a component of Hampshire's educational system for more than 460 years. It is well known for its high academic standards, variety of extracurricular activities, and enthusiasm for athletics and the arts. The School has great facilities, with over ten million dollars invested in it. These give our students extensive opportunities to develop their interests in many areas of the curriculum including a wide range of clubs, societies, sports and cultural opportunities. Since 1938, the School has been located on Hill Lane. Its size, over 13 acres, allows for the inclusion of a wide variety of facilities, several of which have recently undergone significant renovations and new additions. Among them are a theatre of professional calibre, art studios, a new design technology building, a renovated dining hall, a centre for the sixth grade, ICT rooms, a security and access control system, and 17 science labs. In 2004, the Wellington Field was bought from the University of Southampton. There are grounds covering 33 acres, six tennis courts, four netball courts, and an artificial turf field on water. There is also a sizable pavilion with a kitchen, 18 changing rooms, and catering facilities for more than 100 pupils.

All of my children have attended King Edward's in Southampton, with my youngest currently there now. It's been absolutely fantastic for all three of my children, despite each of them having different strengths. Amazing support and incredible opportunities. Can't praise it any higher!
