Hello from Kew Riverside Primary School's governing body.
What did Ofsted say about our service in 2017?
Our lessons at Kew Riverside all have animal names because Giles Andrades' book "Giraffes Can't Dance" served as inspiration.
Kew Riverside first welcomed the public in 2003, with the explicit goal of assisting every kid in discovering their unique musical voice and realising their full potential.
In order to provide a dynamic, creative curriculum that supports and welcomes each child's voice, engagement, and independence, the school's founders established an informal setting without doors on the classrooms and where everyone knows each other by first names.
Children are encouraged to settle in, find their feet, make friends, and learn via play throughout the early years.
Topics are utilised to encourage and motivate students in a variety of interesting ways across the school.
By exploring the local museums and libraries, learning about the natural world at Kew Gardens, and even meeting Henry VIII at Hampton Court Palace, we think kids will learn via experience.
To create learning opportunities for the development of the entire child, we collaborate closely with parents and the larger community.
Much as in the book, our Giraffes may start reception unsteady on their feet, but through their years at Kew Riverside they too will learn to dance.
By the time they leave for the even bigger jungle that is secondary school, our Year 6 Lions will be emotionally intelligent and socially responsible individuals who set and achieve the highest academic standards for themselves.
